PURPOSE:To prevent occurrence of fog and deterioration of dye density by processing a photographic sensitive material specified in silver chloride concentration containing a specified magenta coupler with a liquid color-developer specified in sulfite concentration containing a preservative. CONSTITUTION:The photographic sensitive material has an emulsion layer composed of silver halide grains containing >=80mol% silver chloride, and an emulsion layer containing the magenta coupler represented by formula I in which Ar is phenyl; Y is a group to be released by the coupling reaction with the oxidation product of a color developing agent; and R is acylamino, anilino, or ureido. The photographic sensitive material is processed with the liquid color-developer containing the sulfite in an amount of <=4X10<-3>mol per l of the developer and the preservative represented by formula II (each of R<1> and R<2> being 1-3C alkyl), thus permitting a fog-free dye image high in dye density to be obtained by rapid processing. |
