<p>The process entails a one-stage fermentation with at least one subsequent washing stage which is operated continuously, there being microfiltration stages downstream of the fermentation and of the washing stage or stages in each case. The fermentation and the washing stage or the washing stages with the microfiltration stages result in retention and concentration of the microorganisms. As a consequence of the decoupling of the liquid phase from the solid phase, the washing liquid can be introduced in an amount needed for the process to take place into the last washing stage, and transferred, in each case as permeate stream, into the preceding treatment stage as far as the fermenter.</p> |
