Alignment and locking of a hinged support mechanism used in the jib and supporting bar operation of a lifting device such that a rigid support rod is formed in the lifting device system by the hinged support. The alignment of the hinged support 1 is effected automatically on the basis of the positioning of the bearing points of the ends of the support. The mutual positioning of the ends and the middle joint secures the locking and the locking is realized with a locking pin 5 driven by the function device.
