PURPOSE:To prepare the subject premix which is suitable for artificial marble because of its freeness from cracking, excellent handleability, transferring properties, smoothness and luster by using a specific syrup, acid and inorganic filler at a specific ratio. CONSTITUTION:The subject premix comprises (A) a syrup of unsaturated monomer including dissolved high-molecular-weight substance such as acrylonitrile- styrene copolymer resin of which more than 50wt.% is methyl methacrylate, (B) an inorganic filler such as aluminum hydroxide, preferably 1 to 30mum particle sizes, and (C) an acid of 0.2 to 4.9 acid dissociation index in an aqueous solution at 25 deg.C, such as phosphoric acid where the weight fraction of the unsaturated monomer is 0.20 to 0.85 in component A, the weight fraction of component A based on the total amount of components A and B is 0.20 to 0.60 and the product of the two weight fractions is 0.12 to 0.30 and the weight fraction of C based on the total components A and B is 0.0005 to 0.05. |
