PURPOSE:To improve the amount of a grown hairy root by including an Ri plasmid possessed by Agrobacterium.rhizogenes MAFF03-1724 strain (AR). CONSTITUTION:An Ri plasmid pRi1724 possessed by a home-grown AR strain is cleaved with a restriction enzyme BamHI to obtain a hairy root-inducing gene (rol gene), having 9.4 kb or 5.5 kb size of fragments and containing an amino acid sequence, etc., expressed by the formula or a desired base sequence. A fragment containing the rol gene present on a T-DNA region of an Ri plasmid pRi1724 and a vector are constructed to provide g plasmid (e.g. plasmid pHSG298). The resultant plasmid vector is subsequently transduced into a plant cell such as tobacco and cultured to induce a hairy root. |
