PURPOSE: To obtain a cyan dye-donor element with a good hue for thermal color proofing by producing the cyan dye-donor element for thermal dye transfer from a mixture of particular cyan dyes dispersed in a polymeric binder and a supporter having the surface of a dye layer comprising a yellow dye. CONSTITUTION: In the cyan dye-donor element for thermal dye transfer composed of a mixture of cyan dyes dispersed in a polymeric binder and a supporter having the surface of a dye layer comprising a yellow dye, one or more of the cyan dyes have a structure represented by the formula I (wherein R<1> and R<2> represent H, alkyl and the like with substituted or non-substituted C1-6, R<3> represents alkyl, alkoxy and the like with substituted or non-substituted C1-6, m represents an integer of 0-4, R<4> represents an electron-absorbing radical, R<5> represents aryl and the likewith substituted or non-substituted C6-10 and R<6> and R<7> represent electron-absorbing radical and the like), and one or more of other cyan dyes have a structure represented by formula II wherein, R<1> -R<3> and m represent the same matters as in formula I, X represents H, etc., J represents NHCORF (RF represents aryl, etc.), when X is H, R<8> represents the same matters as R<1> and R<5> , and Y represents R<1> , R<5> , etc.}. |
