PURPOSE: To obtain an abrasive dentifrice composition comprising a dicalcium phosphate and a metal ion-free peroxide compound, stable to active oxygen level and useful for whitening of tooth and removal of freckle. CONSTITUTION: This dentifrice composition comprises 20-60 wt.% dicalcium phosphate and 1-20 wt.% peroxide compound not containing a metallic ion (e.g. urea peroxide) and as necessary, further a chelating agent (e.g. phosphoric acid), a humectant (e.g. polyethylene glycol), a thickener (e.g. carboxymethyl cellulose), a surfactant, flavor ingredient, a synthetic anion linear polymer polycarboxylate, a dental calculus-preventing pyrophosphoric acid salt, an acting agent for reducing perception. The composition can strengthen tooth and rapidly whiten tooth. When the composition is applied to the surface of tooth, the tooth can be whitened and polished without giving injury to oral cavity tissue. |
