PURPOSE:To facilitate changing work of a plate-like filter and to prevent float-up of the plate-like filter. CONSTITUTION:A filtering device is constituted by using the plate-like filter composed of a regular circular shaped through-hole 5 formed at the horizontal bottom wall 4 of a molten metal charging chamber 2 in a filter furnace 1, a float-up preventing part 13 having a side groove 16 formed in the inner wall of this through-hole 5, a regular circular shaped plate-like filter 7 fitted to the through-hole 5 from the upper part and an engaging projection 12 engaged with the side groove 16 of the float-up preventing part integratively arranged to the peripheral wall of relevant plate-like filter 7.
