PURPOSE: To reduce weight and cost of a mold by carrying out the trim strip manufacture under a low pressure through heating a mold injected with a thermosetting material, forming a trim strip binding a liner member on the thermosetting material, and removing the trim strip from the mold. CONSTITUTION: The trim strip 10 is comprised of base 12, outer molding 14, and adhesive tape 16. Core 20 of non woven fabric or foaming material is put under the outer molding 14. Release layer 18 put outside of the adhesive tape 16 is removed just after settling the strip on the appointed surface. Guard plate 50 is put on the outer surface of the tape 16. Fabrication process of the trim strip is comprised of heating the mold fed with heat settable material, bonding the guard plate 50 to the heat settable material and removing the strip 10 from the mold after the forming is completed. |
