PURPOSE:To obtain a resin composition improved in water absorptivity and dimensional stability by mixing a nylon 46 resin with pellets of a mixture of a polyarylate resin with a polyalkylene terephthalate resin and an imidized polyacrylate in a specified mixing ratio. CONSTITUTION:A polyarylate resin is mixed with a polyalkylene terephthalate resin (e.g. polytetramethylene terephthalate) in a ratio of 20/80 to 40/60, and the resulting mixture is pelletized. 100 pts.wt. nylon 46 resin is mixed with 10-100 pts.wt. obtained pellets and 0.5-20 pts.wt. imidized polyacrylate to produce the objective resin composition. Since the polyacrylate resin is mixed with the polyalkylene terephthalate resin prior to pelletization, the compatibilizing effect of the imidized polyacrylate can be fully exhibited. Therefore, the composition improved in water absorptivity and dimensional stability without detriment to the heat resistance of the nylon 46 resin and the heat resistance of the polyarylate resin can be obtained. |
