PURPOSE:To obtain the subject composition excellent in heat resistance, melt stability, molding apperance, etc., by mixing a crystalline polyamide resin of a specified composition and specified properties with a polybromostyrene and a flame retardant aid in a specified mixing ratio. CONSTITUTION:A crystalline polyamide having an m.p. of 270 deg.C or above and comprising 50-80wt.% hexamethyleneterephthalamide and 50-20wt.% hexamethylene isophthalamide, or 10-90wt.% hexamethyleneterephthalamide and 90-10wt.% hexamethyleneadipamide, or 55-90wt.% hexamethyleneterephthalamide and 45-10wt.% capramide is prepared. 100 pts.wt. this resin is mixed with 0.5-60 pts.wt. polybromostyrene having a number-average molecular weight of 1X10<3> to 30X10<4> and a weight-average molecular weight of 2X10<3> to 120X10<4> and mainly consisting of structural units of the formula derived from a bromostyrene monomer and 1-10 pts.wt. flame retardant aid such as antimony oxide, sodium antimonate, tin oxide or iron oxide. |
