POLYPEPTIDE AND ITS PRODUCTION

PURPOSE:To obtain a polypeptide used as an antigen useful for detection of HCV antibody, immunogen of vaccine for prevention of HCV infection and treatment for HCV infection. CONSTITUTION:A polypeptide having an amino acid sequence of the formula. The polypeptide of the formula is obtained from a cultured mixture obtained by transforming, e.g. a bacterium of the genus Escherichia and culturing the transformant in a M9 culture medium containing glucose and casamino acid (to which as necessary chemicals such as isopropylthiogalactoside and indolyl-3- acrylic acid may be added) at 15-43 deg.C for 3-24hr.
