PURPOSE:To obtain a catalyst with good catalytic activity, high strength, durability and good thermal conductivity by using chromium oxide and/or lithium chromite as an inorg. carrier material and constituting the catalyst of a combination of this and a nickel-type metal with an amt. larger than this. CONSTITUTION:The content of a nickel-type metal is 55-90wt.% and the remaining compsn. of the catalyst other than the nickel-type metal is an inorg. carrier material contg. either or both chromium oxide or/and lithium chromite (e.g. alumina, silica, etc.,). This nickel-type metal and the inorg. carrier material both in powder or granulated shapes are mixed by using a rotary or fixed-type mixer and the mixture is molded by compression molding and then calcined. In this case, the molding pressure is 500-2,000kg/cm<2> and the calcination treatment is made by heat treatment at 700-800 deg.C for 1-2 hr. This catalyst hardly generates coking even at 700 deg.C or lower and keeps high activity by this treatment. |
