PURPOSE:To obtain a variable magnetoresistance type motor using a traveling wave by applying a radial vibration to a stator made of a sheet-like magnet magnetized radially and a rotor made of a ferromagnetic material having protrusions. CONSTITUTION:Sine wave-like uneven shape is formed on the inner periphery of a stator 10, i.e., the pole face of a sheetlike magnet 12 by a vibration mode as designated by broken lines on a stator 10 by the excitation of piezoelectric elements 13A, 13B. The variation of the shape is apparently moved in the advancing direction of a travelling wave of the vibration. Thus, a gap between the pole face of the magnet 12 and the protrusion of the rotor 20 is repeatedly reduced and increased at a predetermined period as seen at a certain one point, and varied in a wavy shape as seen over the whole periphery. Since this change of the gap is apparently moved in the advancing direction of the traveling wave, the rotor 20 made of a ferromagnetic material is rotated at the protrusions of S-pole upon induction of the movement of this gap change. Thus, a motor having a simple structure and maintenance-free is obtained. |
