PURPOSE: To obtain a structurally solid precision filtration membrane and a ultrafiltration membrane and a new, thermally and chemically stable composite membrane. CONSTITUTION: This composite membrane comprises a metal support 10 having large pores and a microporous ceramic membrane deposited on the support, integrated therewith. Preferably, the support is steel having pores of about 0.25-50μm, namely steel having a pore size and the ceramic is alumina having pores of about 5-2,500Å.
