PRODUCTION OF AROMATIC VINYL RESIN FOAM

摘要

PURPOSE:To prepare the title foam excellent in formability and appearance by extruding a compsn. obtd. by compounding an arom. vinyl resin with a terpene resin. CONSTITUTION:The title foam is prepd. by extruding a resin compsn. obtd. by compounding 100 pts.wt. arom. vinyl resin with a terpene resin pref. in an amt. of 3-30 pts.wt. An example of a pref. terpene resin is a copolymer prepd. from a monomer mixture essentially contg. a monoterpenic hydrocarbon and a styrenic monomer, and a hydrogenated terpene resin greatly improves the weatherability of the foam. The addition of a mineral oil to the compsn. further improves the formability of the foam and the appearance of a formed article.
