PURPOSE:To provide an original size detecting device capable of detecting plural original sizes with less optical elements. CONSTITUTION:A detecting means 12 is composed of one light emitting element 16, a spectroscope unit 17 splitting light from the light emitting element 16, in the direction of the plane of an original, a light receiving lens 18 receiving the light reflected from the original, and plural light receiving elements 19-21 receiving the light passing the light receiving lens 18. Thus, the plural original sizes can be detected by one detecting means 12, so that the number of the optical elements is reduced, to attain reduction in cost. |
