PURPOSE:To enable a mounting head to be lessened in weight and to operate at higher speed by a method wherein an up-down cam provided to a splined nut is rotated, an up-down shaft provided with a suction nozzle at its lower end is driven to ascend or descend through the intermediary of a cam follower which moves following the up-down cam. CONSTITUTION:A splined nut 80 fitted into a ball splined shaft 5 is rotated with the rotation of the pole splined shaft 5, an up-down cam 82 is revolved, and a L-shaped lever 84 is made to swing as a cam follower which moves following the cam 82. By this setup, a roller 86 located at the upper end of the lever 84 is engaged with a flanged part 68 formed into one piece with an up-down shaft 9 to transmit the swinging motion of the lever 84 to the up-down shaft 9 to enable it to ascend or descend. By this setup, when the suction nozzle 8 is located at the feed station S of a component feed section 40, it picks up the electronic component 70 and holds by suction. When a mounting head 1 is moved in an X-Y direction to move the suction nozzle 8 to an indicated point on a printed board, the electronic component 70 can be mounted. |
