PURPOSE:To obtain an electrophotographic sensitive body having high sensitivity and spectral sensitivity characteristic suited to the use for electrophotographic copying machine, printer, etc., by constituting a charge generating layer thereof of a charge generating layer contg. a polycyclic quinone compd. and a charge generating layer contg. a specified compd. CONSTITUTION:A charge generating layer constituted of two layers, i.e., a layer 2A contg. a polycyclic quinone compd. and a layer 2B contg. an azo compd. expressed by formula I is formed on an electroconductive base body 1, and a charge transfer layer 3 contg. a charge transfer material as a primary component is also formed thereon. Said two layer are built in layers on one another, thus constituting a photosensitive layer 4. In formula I, Ar1 is an aromatic ring group or a heterocyclic group; each Ar2 and Ar3 is an aromatic group; each R1 and R3 is an H atom, alkyl group, etc.; R2 is an alkyl group, carboxyl group, etc.; Z is an atomic group necessary for forming an aromatic ring or a heterocyclic ring. Thus, an electrophotographic sensitive body having high sensitivity, and suitable spectrophotographic sensitive characteristics for an electrophotographic copying machine, printer, etc., is obtd. |
