PURPOSE:To obtain powerful rotating force by providing a plurality of vibration generating means secured to a stator and resonating the vibration generating means with natural vibration of a rotating body thereby producing rotating torque through friction between the rotating body and the peripheral face of the stator. CONSTITUTION:A circular insertion hole 22 having inner diameter D2 for containing a rotating body 21 is made in a stator 20 and recesses 23A, 23B, 23C are made at an interval of 120 deg. in the inner side face thereof so that piezoelectric actuators 24A, 24B, 24C are secured therein. Frictional treatment is applied onto the inner face of the insertion hole 22 and when a voltage is applied onto electrodes disposed at the opposite ends of the piezoelectric actuators 24A, 24B, 24C, variation takes place in the central shaft 25 of the rotating body 21, i.e., in the directions shown by arrows A, B, C, and a phase difference of 120 deg. is provided. The rotating body 21 is then rotated with driving component to produce friction on the inner peripheral surface of the stator 20. The frictional force functions reversely to the rotating direction of the rotating body 21 to produce driving force for the rotating body 21 thus rotating the rotating body 21. |
