PURPOSE:To generate an individual's favorite background musical sound more easily by providing a speech synthesizing means which extracts data on music or sound held in a holding means according to an input indication and outputs the data to a speech output means. CONSTITUTION:An external speech signal is converted by a speech input circuit 1 into digital data, which are registered on a magnetic disk 2. The speech data read out in response to the indication from a keyboard (mouse) 3 are held in the buffer 52 of a WS/PC main body 5. Speech data from a buffer 52, on the other hand, are converted by digital/analog converting circuits 53 and 54 into analog data. Further, the outputs of the digital/analog converting circuits 53 and 54 are superposed on one over the other by a speech synthesizing circuit 55. Then the result is outputted as a sound from a speech output circuit 4 through a speaker, an earphone, etc. A user listens to the background musical sound from a speech generating means and can replace it with next candidate music if the user does not like it. Further, the setting of the sound can also be changed. |
