<p>PURPOSE:To provide a packet switching network which can freely select a relaying method suited to each type of packets and also can replace a certain relaying method with another if the communication is impossible with a fault, etc. CONSTITUTION:A table 1 showing the correspondence between the packet types and the relaying methods is prepared for the packet switching devices 11-14. An originating packet switching device adopts a relaying method based on the table 1 for transmission of a packet. Thus the packet is successively relayed to a terminating packet switching device based on the adopted relaying method. If a certain relaying method becomes inapplicable, the devices 11-14 spontaneously update the table 1 to change the relaying method to another. The table 1 is also updated with an instruction given from a controller which is controlling the devices 11-14.</p> |
