PURPOSE:To accurately correct the resistration displacement of each image carrier by, even with small memory capacity, accurately computing information on the resistration displacement in relation to each image carrier, which is not influenced by irregularities in the rotations of the image carriers. CONSTITUTION:A controller part 51 makes respective photosensitive drums 2-5 form their respective resist correction marks for plural sets and plural rotations on a transfer belt 1 at the prescribed timing. A reading means 10 reads each of the resist correction marks for the plural sets and plural rotations, transferred on the transfer belt 1. The controller part 51 brings the read data to the prescribed arithmetic-processing, makes a storage means store the results for corresponding colors, analyses the stored arithmetic results, and mechanically or electrically corrects the resistration of each image station. |
