PURPOSE:To facilitate the editing of character data on an outline font, etc., by easy user's operation when character data represented as a necessary outline (contour) are edited. CONSTITUTION:This character editing device is equipped with an intersection calculating means 14 which calculates segments connecting two points and the intersections of the segments on a character pattern coordinate system when the two points are indicated across the segments constituting the necessary character pattern, a distance calculating means 15 which calculates the distance between the calculated intersections; and the character pattern which is represented as the contour is displayed on a display screen and edited into a character pattern in a desired shape. |
