PURPOSE:To allow the device to accurately detect whether or not a copy guard is applied to an input video signal. CONSTITUTION:The device is provided with a 1st means 4 counting number of plural pseudo synchronizing signals inserted for preventing copy within a vertical blanking period of an input video signal and with a 2nd means 5 counting number of synchronizing signals for a video period except a vertical blanking period of the input video signal. Discrimination means 6,7 discriminate the presence of copy prevention processing based on the result of count by the 1st means 4 and by the 2nd means 5. |
