PURPOSE:To grasp efficiently the state of a program by extracing a program control packet PCP transmitted initially from the program and writting a horizontal scan position where the PCP is transmitted by using the program number included in the PCP as an address. CONSTITUTION:A shift register 11 is overlapped with a television signal, and converts a data signal transmitted by a packet, which employs one horizontal scan line as a unit, into parallel data. A framing code detection means 13 detects a code for showing a reference position for sampling from the parallel data. A packet control identifying means 14 detects the state of the packet from the parallel data, and then detects a start of some attribute information packet transmission. Moreover, a PCP identifying means 15 identifies a program control packet PCP from the parallel data. A horizontal position counter 3 counts horizontal scan lines of the PCP, and detects the horizontal position. The value of the counter 13 is stored as a program number address included in the PCP in a program buffer memory 4. |
