SAVING METHOD AT THE TIME OF INCORPORATED MEMORY FAULT FOR INTEGRATED CIRCUIT

PURPOSE:To save a memory fault by separating a defective memory area, and relocating data in a memory area which is reserved for a fault saving, when the memory breaks down. CONSTITUTION:This circuit is equipped with a memory 100, monitoring means 10, and address converting means 20, and the memory 100 is divided into normal memory areas 1-N, and memory areas (N+1)-(N+n) for the fault saving. At the time of the writing/reading of the data in the memory areas 1-N of the memory 100, the fault is checked by the monitoring means 10, and when the fault is detected, the address of a memory (i) is converted into the address of one of the memory areas (N+1)-(N+n) for the fault saving by the address converting means 20, and the defective memory area (i) is separated. Thus, the memory fault saving can be attained.
