PURPOSE:To hold a transfer material by providing a position setting means for setting the holding position of the transfer material with respect to a transfer material carrier and deciding the optimum holding position in accordance with the size of the transfer material. CONSTITUTION:A transfer drum 13 is a cylindrical body which is constituted of a transfer sheet 13b attracting and holding the transfer material and a coupling part 13a fixing the transfer sheet 13b, whose diameter is 160mm, and round which the transfer material 50 having A3 size which is maximum(420mm in the rotating direction of the transfer drum 13) can be wound. The transfer material 50 is wound round the sheets 13b so that a central position PPC in the rotating direction may be a position right opposite to the central position PC of the coupling part 13a(opposed position in a diameter direction). By thus winding the transfer material 50, the leading edge and the trailing edge of the transfer material 50 are positioned apart from the periphery of the coupling part 13a, and the transfer material 50 is prevented from winding round the recess of the transfer sheet 13b, thereby surely preventing a transfer omitting phenomenon. |
