PURPOSE:To miniaturize a device, to prevent decrease in transfer efficiency in trial print mode, and to obtain an image of high image quality. CONSTITUTION:The device is an electrostatic printer which can select the trial print mode by means of which an unfixed process master formed by carrying out electrification, exposure and development is fixed on a photosensitive body 7 which is wound in the form of a roll in a drum 6 and drawn out along the periphery of the drum or the print mode by means of which a print process master formed by fixing the unfixed process master is developed and fixed. In the trial print mode, after exposure is carried out by rotating the drum 6 at a low speed and the formation of a latent image is finished, the drum 6 is rotated at a high speed and then development and transfer are carried out. |
