SHG DEVICE

摘要

PURPOSE:To provide the SHG device which can effectively convert the energy of basic wavelength light to SHG light by combining a nonlinear optical material having a high nonlinear superpolarization rate or nonlinear optical constant and a substrate with a grating. CONSTITUTION:This SHG device is a waveguide element having the substrate 2 formed with the grating 3 and the waveguide 1 formed of the nonlinear optical material. Arbitrary transparent materials with which the absorption to SHG light is negligible are usable as the substrate 2. An org. compd. which absorbs the SHG light but has no large absorption to the basic wavelength and has the high nonlinear superpolarization rate or nonlinear optical constant is used as the nonlinear optical material. Then, the energy of the laser beam of the basic wavelength propagating in the waveguide 1 is effectively converted to the SHG light.
