The present invention relates to a cooled air intake device for a motor vehicle internal combustion engine (30) equipped with a system (40) for cooling its passenger compartment. This device comprises an air inlet pipe (13) which connects the atmosphere (A) to a filter (32), while the cooling system (40) includes a circuit (41) in which a volatile liquid circulates under the effect of a compressor (43) through an evaporator termed main evaporator then a condenser (44), and is characterised in that an auxiliary evaporator (52) is interposed in the inlet pipe (13) in order to cool the air (FA) taken into the engine (30). The invention applies to the production of intake devices for engines of any motor vehicles, equipped with a cooling system. <IMAGE>
