摘要 PURPOSE:To enable storage operation when the structure of a Josephson element is made fine, by making the junction area of the Josephson element smaller than a specified value. CONSTITUTION:A DC-SQUID, write data lines 1, and write word lines 2 have the same structures as the ones of a conventional Josephson storage device. But junction areas of Josephson junctions of J1, J2 are smaller than or equal to 0.01 square micron, in order that the electrostatic energy of Cooper pairs may become nearly equal to the capturing magnetic energy of SQUID. As the result of repetition of the tunnel phenomenon, magnetic flux oscillation is generated in an SQUID loop. A magnetic field detection line 5 which magnetically couples with an SQUID ring is used for detecting a magnetic field. One end 6 of the magnetic field detection line is earthed via a ground plate, and the other end is connected with a read data line 3 via a three-terminals switching element S1. A read word line 4 is connected with the gate of the element S1, which is turned to the conduction state when a voltage is applied.
