PURPOSE:To improve color reproduction performance, sharpness, graininess, and time lapse change of a latent image after exposure of the silver halide color photographic sensitive material. CONSTITUTION:The silver halide color photographic sensitive material comprising a support and at least one negative type silver halide emulsion layer contains at least one compound to be allowed to release a development inhibitor or its precursor by reaction with the oxidation product of a color developing agent and/or at least one compound to be allowed to release the first compound to be next allowed to release the development inhibitor by the second reaction with the oxidation product of the color developing agent. This photosensitive material further contains at least one of compounds represented by formulae I and II in which each of Ra1-Ra5 and Rb1-Rb5 is H or alkyl or the like and each of Ra1-Ra5 is not H at the same time and one or two of Rb1-Rb5 is hydroxyl.
