PURPOSE:To provide the maintenance system which automatically performs the periodical replacement work of a battery independently of the human management work with respect to a storage device with battery backup function which has the battery which holds stored data at the time of power-off. CONSTITUTION:When the periodical replacement work of the battery is performed, a maintenance man starts management software which is operated by a central processing unit 01 and records the next battery periodical replacement work day or the like in a prescribed area of a management part 12. At the time of the next start of the system, an OS indicates read of battery replacement management information to a storage device 02, and a control part 50 of the storage device 02 reports the battery replacement work predeterminate day or the like from the management part 12. The OS compares the system operation day with the battery replacement work predeterminate day; and when they coincide with each other, a battery replacement indicating message is displayed on a console for the purpose of instructing the battery periodical replacement work to the maintenance man. |
