<p>PURPOSE:To provide the compact liquid crystal display panel which can prevent the intrusion of alkali ions to TFTs without lowering the functions of oriented films. CONSTITUTION:This liquid crystal display panel consists of 1st, 2nd substrates 101, 102, a liquid crystal layer 103 sandwiched between the 1st and 2nd substrates 101 and 102, thin-film transistors (TFTs) 107 formed on the 1st substrate 101, wirings for driving the TFTs 107 and the oriented film for orienting the liquid crystal molecules of the liquid crystal layer 103. The 1st substrate 101 of the above-mentioned panel is a glass substrate contg. alkali ions. An ion shielding layer for preventing the infiltration of the alkali ions from the 1st substrate 101 into the TFTs 107 is provided on the 1st substrate 101 in such a manner that the effect of shielding the ions is higher in the positions on the 1st substrate 101 where the TFTs 107 are formed than in the other positions.</p> |
