The locking-up device rests on axles (4) via deformable suspensions (3) comprising, for each suspension, a hydraulic cylinder (7) arranged vertically, the body (8) of which is secured to the chassis (6), and the moving members (9, 10, 12, 13) of which may be moved between a deployed position of immobilisation of the chassis (6) with respect to the axles (4) and a retracted position in which the chassis is free to move with respect to the axles. Each thrust cylinder (7) includes two pistons (9, 10) located facing one another so as to define a main intermediate chamber (14) and two auxiliary chambers (15, 16) on the side of a respective piston rod (12, 13). The two piston rods (12, 13) are capable of urging the suspension (3) vertically in opposite directions, one directly and the other via connection members (18) connecting it to the suspension, so as to immobilise the latter in a position of immobilisation which is the position in which it can be found at the moment at which the corresponding thrust cylinder is actuated. <IMAGE>
