PURPOSE:To realize the miniaturization of a transmission section and a reception section with respect to the optical link for parallel transmission provided with a protection function. CONSTITUTION:A monolithic array 31 is provided in a transmission section 2A and a monolithic array 31A is provided in a reception section 3A. The monolithic arrays 31, 31A of laser diode structure, and are provided with standby channel elements 32-N+1 and 32A-N+1 in addition to communication channel elements 33-1-32-N and 32A-1-32A-N. The communication channel elements 32-1-32-1 and 32A-1-32A-N and the standby channel elements 32-N+1 and 32A-N+1 act like light receiving elements. |
