PURPOSE:To enable production of diversified kinds by coating the label with an urethane resin and providing the specific or higher thermal transfer printability by an oily ink ribbon, fastness to discoloration and color fading by washing and the fastness to discoloration and color fading by dry cleaning. CONSTITUTION:The surface to be thermally transferred of a base fabric consisting of woven polyester fiber is coated with the urethane resin at 1 to 20wt.%. Further, the thermal transfer printability by the oily ink ribbon, the fastness to discoloration and the color fading by washing and the fastness to discoloration and color fading by dry cleaning are all specified to >=4 class. The method of coating the base fabric with the urethane resin is preferably a solvent dry process system. General solvents, such as toluene, methyl ethyl ketone, ethyl acetate and dimethyl formaldehyde, are used for the solvent. Further, the oily ink ribbon formed by sticking carbon onto a polyester film with a polyamide resin as a binder is used as the oily ink ribbon. |
