A textile reinforcing layer is described consisting of or containing a non-woven made from synthetic fibres in which at least a part of the synthetic fibres are hollow fibres, and a fibre-reinforced laminated material made from a polymer matrix in which this reinforcing layer is embedded. Methods for the manufacture of these articles are also given.
