This is a positioning tool of the kind including, mounted so as to rotate one with respect to the other, on the one hand, a barrel (19) which has, parallel to the axis of the assembly, a plurality of housings (20) each suitable for housing a series of identifiers to be positioned and, on the other hand, a dispensing head (22) which, provided with an outlet (23) suitable for delivering the identifiers, is equipped with a cutter (24) enabling the first of these identifiers to be detached from the rest of the series. According to the invention, the outlet (23) of the dispensing head (22) bearing a transverse side-plate (25) of the latter, this transverse side-plate (25) extends in the immediate vicinity of the corresponding end (26) of the barrel (19), and the cutter (24) is simply formed by one of the radial edges of the entry of its outlet (23).
