PURPOSE:To obtain a control voltage signal to generate a signal whose frequency and phase are stable from a voltage controlled oscillator. CONSTITUTION:A phase detector 20 receives a gate signal obtained from an output signal of a voltage controlled oscillator and a strobe signal from a reference signal source. A 1st capacitor C2 is charged for a gate period from the start point of the gate period till the production of the strobe signal, then a 2nd capacitor C1 is charged from the production of the strobe signal till the end of the gate period, and a difference between charges in the two capacitors C1, C2 appears at an output terminal of the phase detector as a control voltage signal for the voltage controlled oscillator. |
