<p>PURPOSE:To improve the initial startability of a cold cathode discharge tube closed up tightly in a housing. CONSTITUTION:In a structure in which a liquid crystal display plate 6 is integrated into a cabinet 5 so that the display surface 4 is visible, and the light of a cold cathode fluorescent tube 8 condensed by a lamp house 9 is made incident on an end face of a backlight unit 7 having a diffusion plate 7a on its back, this structure is constituted so that the vicinity of an electrode of the cold cathode fluorescent tube 8 is irradiated with an external light 11 which goes in from a window provided on the cabinet 5, through a light guiding body 10.</p> |
