A hydrokinetic clutch of variable start-up characteristic, composed of a flow system, mounted rotationally, fixed body, with a tap tube mounted in the body, equipped with en external supply source with a container of liquid and transmitting torque from the engine to power receiver by means of an active rotor mounted on a sleeve on the engine pin and on bearings inside the body, working liquid and passive rotor, with a rotating shield, mounted on a shaft on bearings in this sleeve, characterised in that it has contact seal (6) of the rotating shield (3) in relation to the fixed body (5), the said seal (6) during operation of the clutch as a result of centrifugal force creates a slot constituting clearance seal.<IMAGE>
