NTSC colour TV signal with reduced differential phase error - has brightness value which varies from period to period and is adapted to average of light intensity signals

The t.v. signal comprises a light intensity signal (Y), a quadrature modulated colour carrier (F) and a colour synchronising signal (B) superimposed on a brightness level (H). This value (H) differs from time period to time period. Each is matched to the average value of the light intensity signal (Y) of a preceding, current or following time period. The time period is pref. the period of one line. USE/ADVANTAGE - Esp. for adapted NTSC signal. Reduces differential phase error and thus associated colour tone degradation.
