The special transmitter in the vehicle radiates a wideband warning signal whose spectrum covers the entire FM frequency range of the road traffic information radio system. It is activated automatically when either the headlamps, the fog-lamps or the emergency flashing indicator lamps are switched on. The range of the transmitter is about 600 m so that any other vehicle receiving traffic information within that distance is alerted automatically to the source of the warning transmission. USE/ADVANTAGE - Also in congested traffic. Approach of another vehicle can be perceived without recourse to additional receiver.
