In order to ensure, in a protective device for monitoring and securing accesses to danger areas in stores, especially at the entrances to lanes in high-shelving stores, that, on the one hand, vehicles passing across the access are recognised before they enter the danger area and trigger alarm signals and, on the other, vehicles passing by the lanes or accessways do not trigger said alarms, it is proposed to fit the vehicles with a signal transmitter which transmits a bunched, coded signal received by a fixed signal receiver arranged in the access to the store and taken to a control device, said control device's comprising a discriminator suppresses other than correctly coded output signals, and the monitored access is outside danger areas.
