The spool halves each comprise a side face (1) and a tubular frusto-conical winding part (2). When fitting the spool halves together the interengaging elements fit positively with force-locking engagement to provide a secure hold. These elements cannot be separated by the winding processes or vibrations caused during transport and comprise interengaging webs and grooves. The winding part of each spool can have at the end of the larger diameter attachments to ensure secure stacking whilst preventing the truncated cones from jamming in each other. ADVANTAGE - The spools can be separated and stacked for easy return for reuse.
