Aqueous solutions containing peroxobisulphate ions are used to prepare medicaments for treating malignant cells in the human and animal body. Also disclosed are a process and device for preparing these therapeutical agents, which may be obtained for example by actinic irradiation of aqueous solutions that contain anions of sulphur oxo-acids, in particular sulphate ions and/or peroxobisulphate ions, the pH value being between 2 and 7.
