A cupola for a large building is supported on a framework formed by a number of separate frames. Each frame consists of two curved upper members (4) arranged parallel to each other and a single lower member (5) which is more sharply curved than the two upper members (4). The two upper members are connected to each other by cross members (9) and each upper member is connected to the lower member by struts (6) of different lengths to produce a structure of triangular cross-section. The size of the triangle is a minimum at the middle of the frame and a maximum at each end. USE - Buildings with large span roofs without any intermediate supports.
