A first end seal s positioned over the cylindrical housing and is heated to above the melting point of the seal material. The first seal is then cooled and is allowed to shrink on to the housing. A strap is placed around the cooled first end of the seal is drawn tightly to support the fixture. The material for the seal is Dupont Hytrel (RTM). The strap is of metal. When the housing is of a synchronised link and a shaft, the first end of the seal is placed over the housing of the synchronised link and a second end over the shaft.
